While I'm already playing schottisches, why not recording another one. I've been looking for this tune for years and finally found it on Henrik Norbeck's abc archive site! It's the 2nd Schottische from Idre, a gorgeous tune!!!!!!!
Wow Suzi, that was really nice! I really like the sound of that new instrument you got!!
Another great schottis, Susi. Schottis från Idre Två played on my Sobell mandolin.

Very nice, David! I expected you would fancy this tune.
Schottis från Idre I'm currently on a binge of Swedish tunes, and this lovely schottische is one them. My recording on two mandolins with tenor guitar backing is based on an arrangement by Hidenori Omori, via hatao: https://celtnofue.com/media/files/sc..._fran_Idre.pdf Mid-Missouri M-0W mandolin 1915 Luigi Embergher mandolin Ozark tenor guitar Martin
Schottis Från Idre #2 for this thread
This is the other tune, Schottis Från Idre #1: https://youtu.be/QkshVcCb1VQ And the thread for Schottis Från Idre #1 https://www.mandolincafe.com/forum/g...641&do=discuss
Nice rhythmic playing of both Schottis Från Idre, Simon. Lovely version by Martin from five years ago. (The old link doesn't work no longer.)
Thanks Frithjof, I did actually cut up an huge old woollen sock and fitted it to my right foot. Now I am the proud owner of a deep tone, improvised foot drum. Martin’s tune is really nice, warm and festive.
I am not very familiar with Schottise music, only what i hear here. I like the rhythm and the very Nordic feel they produce. Nice work by both of you.
I too never heard this music. Very, I don't know... I thought it said Scottish something but when I heard that minor I said WHAT. And the second tune that starts major and went minor really thru me.Then I thought you were gonna dance! Thanks Simon!
