    Mair used the title "Danse du roi", but the piece is more commonly referred to as "Ballet du roy". I have played it on mandolin, plus tenor guitar, octave mandolin and mandocello. As Marilyn says in her article, the parts are somewhat tricky to count to make them align in such a way that a strong pulse for dancing emerges. Fun piece -- we play this with our group occasionally.
