As part of a commentary to one of my other videos, somone asked for De fiev Söhns.
I didn't know this song and looked for the sheet music, that I found here:https://www.ostfriesischelandschaft....iev_Soehns.pdf
The song seems to tell a tragic story of a mother loosing her five sons, but I show pictures of Ostfriesland, where the song comes from:

A sweet tune with some sadness intertwined in the notes as the title pretty well tells the story. Nice and sensitively played CC.

Very nice, Christian! The classic 1970s version of this song by Liederjan has long been one of my favourite German folk recordings. I made my own recording of this back in 2018, taking it rather slower than you and leading with the mandocello -- thus, there is already an old SAW thread here, with lyrics (in German and English) and links to the Liederjan recording and sheet music:

My own old recording is here -- I may update it at some stage:

Nice playing Christian and Martin…both versions played in a manner that conveys the mood/feeling I imagine it should do…from the little information I know about the tune!

Thanks Ginny, Martin and John W.! Martin, your version really sounds as dark as the events, the lyrics tell.

You recorded a fine mandolin version of this sad traditional folksong, Christian.

Martin has chosen the right instrument out of his arsenal to capture the dark mood of this folksong. I like it very much. But not everyone owns a mandocello…

Grand, fine playing Christian and very dramatic and dark Martin. Your mandocello does a fine job here.
