I started playing guitar at age 14 when a friend of my father let me play his Gibson Hummingbird. He taught me some chords and gave me his Fender Mustang. It was all uphill from there. My first band was a country rock outfit, then I played bass in new wave, rock and blues bands. Then I discovered mandolin ten years ago. I support my MAS habit by working as a historian and exhibit developer for the MI History Museum. I love my family, music, hockey, boating, the great state of Michigan and the good ole USA.
