About Misty Stanley-Jones

Biography:

I'm a Georgia Peach transplanted to Brisbane, Australia. I grew up listening to bluegrass, old-time, and country music as well as every other kind of music I could get my ears on. I'm classically trained in trumpet, French horn, and singing, and have a minor in music. Until a few years ago, I never dreamed of learning to play bluegrass music.

In my day job, I work as a manager of a very large team of technical writers for a major software company. One thing I appreciate about music is that it is completely different from what I am doing all day long. I love to "geek out" but I also love to "unplug".

I'm married to an upright bass player. :)
