Back in the saddle again, and with some upgrades! Got a new phone, so I'm using that as my video source now (hello 1080p!), using the microphones on...
Mandolinist since 2000.
Flight Test Engineer since 2015.
Currently, I'm specializing in the Bach Cello Suites, and throughout 2020 (and possibly a bit beyond), I am closing in on completing what I believe is a world-first: a complete recording of them on the mandolin. Uploading the next movement every week or so, this is stretching me beyond my own comfort zone in that I am not allowing myself to become bogged down by perfection as I see it, but am getting quickly to a "good enough" level and moving on. I'm trying to "fail fast." I do not intend for my uploads to necessarily be the ultimate authoritative versions of these pieces, but as an opening salvo encouraging other mandolinists (and even my future self) to progress these pieces to new heights.
Soli Deo gloria.
