    More love for Pomeroys

Here’s my 2018 Violin Style A and a song called “Someday.” I find this instrument as much a pleasure to look at as it is to play. Unfortunately, this recording doesn’t do the mandolin the justice it...

It's here! Peter Coombe flat top.

I have had it a couple of days now and still can't wipe the smile off my face! It is a thing of beauty. It's lightweight, precision made, loud and has great sustain.

    It's one of Peter's 2nd...

  9. Re: Your thoughts on Ellis A4s and other modern, upper tier ovals

Well, dang. Now you've got me looking at the Pava. I do own a Pava Player I got from Carter's a few months ago. To tell the truth, it doesn't excite me much. It's turning into my wife's mandolin. (G)...

    Re: Waverly Tuners tight

Try a little oil on the gears, Tri-Flow works great. I have seen techs use WD-40 but that is more of moister protectant. Singer sewing machine oil if you can find it works great also.

What are they like with the strings off? If they are no better after lubrication, they may be badly fitted and the posts binding.

    Classic Grisman

This is one of my favorite Grisman solos. Every note lands perfectly and his timing is just incredible. I guess that's what makes these guys pros!

  16. Re: looking to move, but I have no clue where ?.

Do NOT move to Colorado, it is awful. Weather is terrible, people are miserable, music scene is lousy. The doctors are quacks. I am telling everyone I can to not move here.

    I wish you well.
