Well your American Breedloves are solid mandolins. They won't hold you back. And you love them. They're in a price range where it's hard to just turn up the "better".
I would hold off upgrading...
We did a wedding where the bride picked O'Carolan's Sheebeg and Sheemore. I think it worked very well.
It can be tricky. When I sell, I honor returns but the buyer pays shipping both ways. I wouldn't want anyone to have an instrument they don't want. But I also wouldn't want to miss a sale or lose...
I don't but he does:

I haven't played any mandolins worth more than 10k. I've played most of the usual suspects in that 4-7k range and haven't found anything that beats my Girouard A5 Concert.
Looking back, there was...
I think Reunion Blues, Mono, Gator Icon, etc are really a different animal than a gig bag. Great drop protection. Maybe a little less crush protection. I've carried some good gear in a Reunion...
Beautiful Frank! That A5 Special sure sounds nice on the double stops. Very rich.
Nice work! Just bought it :)
I was going to take a just quick glance at the video and then.....it's 40 minutes later.
Good way to spend 40 minutes. Thanks Daryl!
My favorite back is on my Girouard Oval. Love the look of quilted maple!

I commissioned Massimo Barbi to make a mandola similar to his flat top mandolin. His mandolins already have a bit larger body and you could probably talk scale length...
It's kind of a generalization but I think of the Eastman octave as a big mandolin and the Gold tone octave as a little Irish bouzouki.
Merry Christmas friends!

Looks nice, Eric! Breedlove uses a lot of myrtle for their guitars. Is it as loud as the Brentrup?

It's a good looking mandolin in my opinion. Not traditional but obviously you aren't going for the traditional crowd with a walnut back and sides and unique violin inspired look. I think it looks...
Welcome to the cafe!
There is value in DUDU picking because so many tunes are runs of eighth notes and thats a way be efficient and to emphasize the accent.
There doesn't need to be anything strict about it. But it's...
Sonowood is an alternative. I think Patrick Toole uses it.

There's a number of folks that have set up a deal with afanti/pango/feeling mandolin family instruments. They buy them, do something to them, give them a new name, and then sell them domestically.

I like Weber Absorokas. Kind of unique F hole X braced. You can buy one today for $4750. But hey, the seller did knock $250 off. They originally listed for 5K. And...there's another Absoroka...

This is fun!
You say you're happy with your F9 Gibson for bluegrass. So here's my choice for you: A Paul Duff matching A4 and Octave mandolin. You got the F9 for BG, the A4 Duff for the oval...
It's been great working with Massimo and I'm expecting the mandola soon. I'll do a video once I get it, but here are some pictures of the build:
