I play a KM-11 as my beach/backpacking mandolin. It's good enough and fun to play
I still have the hair, it just migrated from my head to my shoulders and ears.
I wish I’d never sold mine!209338
This was 1975!
Sold the mandolin and then the hair just…left!
The tailpiece is indeed a replacement and that screw in the top right tuner needs to be replaced. Is there a FON stamped inside on the neck block? I've had a few of these, all had wonderful necks.
Nice mandolin all right and those tuners are correct Kluson units from the late 30s. The tailpiece should be a "cloud" two piece style not the single piece "clamshell" that it has but I am sure you...
Fair play to you.
I have owned a number of these off and on over the years.
A very comfortable neck profile for my hands. Always a pleasure to play.
It’s hard to tell from your photo…are...
Congratulations, they are nice mandolins.
Those are lovely mandolins. I had a chance to grab one a few years ago and didn't. A regret.
Very happy to reacquire a 1923 Sheraton brown snakehead this week I sold from the Classifieds in 2009. Still had the original email correspondence, the buyer still had the mandolin and more luckily...
I recently took possession of my Grandfather's old A Model. I had assumed it was an A Jr, due to lack of binding or ornamentation, though someone else mentioned that the "Jr" series came along...
Seen in the classifieds. No personal connection. This A-Jr defies my observation that it's rare to see the economy models in 'closet' condition. And much more common to find an A-4 that was put aside...
Here's today's arrangement. Thanks for listening!

Just the usual built in suspects, reverb, delay and some overdrive. Nothing exotic. I might add that the line out is a really nice feature.

I traded a mandolin to a feller for a custom-made Champ clone ... and all my electrics sound good through it.
Sweet little rig you have there F-2 Dave!! Sadly I don't own an old Fender tweed amp but one may cross my path eventually. Currently playing through a new Super Champ X2. Sounds excellent though!!...
learning the piano part on this kicked my butt haha but i eventually got there :-) Link below

I've been building some Bigsby Inspired Mandolins, though I'd share some photos.
You gave me an idea:

So I have a new mando in my life, a craiglist Strad-O-Lin, advertised as 50's but Mike E says it could be older. I think it's solid wood, at least the top, and even though the action is about the...
Working with my contact at Collings and Waterloo and it looks like this is going to happen at some point in the near future.
Who'd be interested in a giveaway of one of these very fine mandolins?...
Leon Redbone has passed away. Another hard loss for the music world.

I don't know, it just made me so happy to take this in....

Thought I would share one I just got done recording. I did a transcription of Sam and Chris' version (which is floating around on the Cafe) and wanted to try and get a video of it. Thank goodness the...
