Well, most of the NYC bridges and tunnels are closed (they just re-opened the Tappan Zee Bridge at 9 a.m. today); the commuter trains, subways and buses are suspended today while the MTA assesses...

    Re: Who likes exercises?

Well I was just practicing the scales from Baldassaris' dvd and I dropped the pick because I was holding it too loosely. Two things came to mind, young Chris Thile dvd saying to "hold it so loosely...

    Re: Weber vs The Weber

There has not been a name change. Sound to Earth was started by Bruce and Mary Weber and they continue to be the sole owners and managers of STE. As with any small company we have had employees...

A friend of mine is sponsored by Weber and has one of the "The Weber" mandolins. My understanding is that the "The" designates it as a higher end model. Webers are all fine mandolins, but personally...

Isn't "The Weber" reserved for the higher end models? There is no import branded Weber (for mandolins). Sound To Earth (Weber) was formed when the Flatiron company was bought out by Gibson and...

    Re: Split Top?

The whole top vibrates, no matter which string is being played. In my experience, tops of two different woods have a sound that is somewhere between either wood by itself. That can be good or bad.

    Sure:
I like the circular nature of the tunes; how they go round and round in a continuous curve that never ends.
