I the event of an EMP, and/or "the big one," I too have a 440 tuning fork. And a log log duplex slide rule. Unless & until then, I like the convenience of electronic tuners. 😹

Two thoughts: Could you just ask the person you bought it from? Unless his/her ownership was so brief that the strings weren't replaced. Or the person your seller bought it from?
Second, comparing...
Don't understand why folks do this. I've had people come up to me on the street, in a train station, in a park, while setting up for performance, etc., and ask to play my...
WOW! Just... Wow!
It helps to appreciate the time, skill and handwork involved in making your beautiful instruments.
Thank you so much for posting this!
Yes. Yes. And yes.
David:
You beat me to it. If you are using cello music, depending on the piece, or the range of the piece, you may run into tenor clef.
I learned tenor clef years ago for vocal ensemble music...
Yes, sorry for not being clear.
Thanks!
Lovely!
What is the back of the guitar?
OR ... There's a simplicity to them that makes them elegant.
Well, obviously, the cat soundhole is working.😸
Kit
Guitars, Mandos, Violins, Dulcimers, Cats
Ooh, what about a silhouette cat that clips into the soundhole? I'd put one on my guitar's soundhole. And probably mandolin soundhole. And maybe other guitar...
I got a few of these a month or so ago. I like them. Another alternative to pricey boutique picks.
Tough to give advice about strings, since instruments and preferred setups and sound differ so widely. Strings are (relatively) cheap. I tend to like different strings on different instruments.

Not to derail this thread, but well said, Sue.
Oops, oud... lute. Obviously not an expert. 😸
Nonetheless, the pieces of the raqma do seem to flow to the bridge, so the effect is still nice.
Lovely work, Jo, as we have come to expect from you. I particularly like the multi-piece bridge and inlay around the soundhole on the one (lute?) on the right.
Nice!
I always thought those things were great when I was a kid.
Ervin Somogyi is pretty well-known in the steel string guitar world. His guitars are played by a number of artists in the Windham Hill orbit, including Will Ackerman, Michael Hedges and Alex...
So sorry you have lost your friend and music companion. Torties are special.
RIP, Smudge.
Beautiful work, as usual. I am really loving the rosette on the lute!
I had exactly this issue with a D-35, on both the top and back binding. It was under warranty, so Martin covered it with one of their authorized repair people. Unfortunately, the guy did less than a...
Banjo Ben's store seems to have them in different shapes & materials.
I always wondered about that. 😹
Have you been talking with Bill Bussmann???
Also liking the inlay on the oud top. And the rosette on the colascione. Beautiful work, as always, from your hands.
Nice, but the Hare 4 model is worth the extra $.
