The tailpiece is indeed a replacement and that screw in the top right tuner needs to be replaced. Is there a FON stamped inside on the neck block? I've had a few of these, all had wonderful necks.

Nice mandolin all right and those tuners are correct Kluson units from the late 30s. The tailpiece should be a "cloud" two piece style not the single piece "clamshell" that it has but I am sure you...

Seen in the classifieds. No personal connection. This A-Jr defies my observation that it's rare to see the economy models in 'closet' condition. And much more common to find an A-4 that was put aside...
