    I have been in conversation with Paul Newson since Aug. 2015, Visited him in his shop and played an A model when it was unfinished. He is a great guy and is very willing to let you try his mandolins...

    I think he is talking about the "tone bars" when mentioning braces. Tone bars usually just taper at the ends and are not scalloped in the center. Some are thicker and thinner depends on the builder...

    Ken traded it to Charlie Johnson at Vintage Mandolin/Mandolin World Headquarters. From there Massimo Gatti had it and then it was in the classifieds.
