I relate to this all too well. Inspiration to play was hard to find for a couple weeks, though is starting to return. I forced myself to play last night and was glad I did.

Ruhland #41. About 3 months old now.
Between String Summit and Darrington it is really going to depend on your music and party preferences. Darrington is largely traditional bluegrass based. String Summit is going to have a much broader...

I believe Jeff influenced many of us. His energy was contagious and the Yonder catalog got me looking at the traditional stuff more closely. While my wife and I didn't meet at a Yonder show, we went...

My main mandolin is a Howard Morris A5. Pretty early on I figured out that I wouldn't stay satisfied long with the mass produced Pac- Rim instruments and began researching affordable luthier built...
Howard Morris builds a great mandolin. My personal belief is that nothing else in the price range comes close. He gives lots of options for customization as well.
Sampler 1 has arrived in not so sunny Eugene Oregon.
The entire mandolin is beautiful, but that top really is something special!
New strings would definitely help. In addition, a full set-up is needed. Adjusting nut height and slots, saddle height and slots, bridge placement, and likely some attention to the frets. Rob Meldrum...
