Mandolins are around 14” scale length while most guitars have 24 3/4” to 25 1/2” scales. Given the same string gauge, that short scale yields a greater string stiffness compared to longer stringed...

I’m not keen on banning specific tunes or songs but I have to say if you bring a tune or song to a jam you should be able to play and or sing it well enough to lead it so that others can follow along.

Wagon Wheel, the song all the cool kids hate and the audiences always love. Banning songs? We hold genre specific jams (old time, bluegrass, etc.) and even though folks show up for those jams we used...
