I received my Duff A5 yesterday and after 16 hours of acclimation, I was able to open it this morning. Thought I would share some pictures of Duff A5 25520. Purchased from Carter Vintage Guitars.
Here is Gibson F5-L case with the maroon lining from about 1991, inside is 2002 Derrington MM.
These are robust cases and have a nice stitched leather handle grip.
Lo-Fi, send me a PM if you want...

Here’s one. The outside is plain, but I’m having trouble attaching a second photo. Good luck.

I bought a Gibson Calton and I love it. I’m very pleased that my A4 fits in it also.
I think if you really loved the instrument (and if you're going back every couple weeks you must), it would take an unusual amount of intestinal fortitude to wait it out like that.
Good for you...
I love that! Going into a local dealer, finding an instrument you love, then coming back again and again to play it for a few minutes. No one else makes an offer on it, and finally the dealer says,...
Hi everyone,
Resuscitating this thread as I recently gave the search another shot ....
Since I last posted I've been in contact with the buyer's brother (thank you LinkedIn) and will share...
thanks for posting and what a beautiful mando! Love your case! I'm not a sticker guy so for me they'd be gone but that's just me. The case should clean up nicely if you do remove them. A little...
I discovered Mandolin Cafe only a few weeks ago, and I'm really glad to have found it. There is so much information, wisdom and fun here! Thank you so much for creating this place.

Remember also that the cops aren’t going to come around to your house if you play your mandolin like a guitar.
Fiddle tunes, learn and record about thirty Fiddle tunes (no improv, rock steady,...
Hi guys! I recently got this custom mandolin from Ken. I figured I would share it since it is quite unique. I call it the thornbush.
-And yes, it sounds even better than it looks. Blew my...
Grolsch-style rubber washers are great for holding leather straps to a guitar strap button, but they're too big in every dimension (especially thickness) to fit well on a mandolin strap button....
That’s a gorgeous mandolin. I’ve eyed a couple of those iced-tea bursts — and it’d be particularly nice for me, as the 1988 would be my birth-year model! If you ever feel like selling, keep me in...
Lovely! Cool looking case, too.
Lovely instruments. Enjoy. R/
Congratulations. These Steve Carlsons are fabulous. I've had an F5L like yours and still have an A5L. I seem to recall reading about this mandolin in another thread, and I believe the Steve Harvey...
Love it.
A few years ago I picked up this Gibson F5L Carlson signed from Charles Johnson - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2lnB7AD7RaM
My lates acquisition 2 years ago was 1990 F5L signed by Steve Carlson, virtually unplayed but it's opened up and now sounds fabulous.

Congratulations! Great looking mandolin you have. Is it possible David Harvey owned this mandolin in the past or possibly did some work on it? Would be worth messaging him to see if he remembers the...
Very nice, Congratulations.

I have one of the very first mandolins that John Monteleone made back in the 70's. Long before he became famous. I bought it in my twenties, gigged with it and then came babies and mortgages...
Received a great 2000 Flatiron Performer A mandolin yesterday. I have owned my 1924 Gibson Snakehead A Junior for about 7 months now. Great sounding and playing mandolin! I had been wanting an f hole...
