Has anyone got tabs or links for Kalinka for mandolin?
I tried balaljka but I couldnt reach the 5. fret, with my thumb on the 1. fret, so I sold it. :(

Here is a simplified version you can learn by ear or a screen shot of the notated version. Not so complicated.

I took a screen shot of the sheet music:

1. make a list of the Russian songs you want to learn.
2. get a subscription for musescore.com
3. Download the songs from musescore (simple tune melodies -some scripts have the whole orchestra)
4. Post a thread on MC of Russian song TABs (the raw .abc files)
5. Copy a melody and paste it to www.mandolintab.net
6. Learn the tune using the PDF of TAB and notation
7. Post the PDF and your recording as a thread to Song-A-Week

8. Read all the nice comments from your MC friends and admirers. :))
9. Go to 5.
Hehe, I've taken a shortcut.
I have tuned the two second highest stringpairs as a Balalaika, i.e. I tuned to A4 and E4
Then I've found my old Balalaika scores/tabs and can start rehearsing. I might dampen the two deeper strings, as I find it difficult to do tremolo over 4 strings with a plectrum. Then I can use the fingers, Balalika style.
Maybe you can post the TABs to a Russian site and do Irish, English, French and Scottish, OldTime etc. .abc’s for balalaika instead then? :)
