EML Picks? Or other casein picks?
I just found an EML pick that I had purchased a while back and had forgotten about. I really like it and so I went to see if I could get another one. It looks like he (Eric, I think) is not making them anymore - the web site says something like "updates" coming soon. I searched some old threads and it looks like it has been this way for a couple years. There are links to Facebook and Instagram but I don't have accounts to either of those, so I'm not sure if they are actively being sold on FB or Insta.
If they're no longer made, is there a new maker that does something similar? I see that D'Addario now makes casein picks, but they don't look like they're crafted the same way as EML picks (apples and oranges even though its the same material). I found Apollo picks, but they're $45! I think I remember my EML pick was $20. I understand the BC picks are $50, but that's because the material is expensive and not easy to get. That's not the case for casein.
Thanks!

I’m a fan of Apollo. Yes, $45 is a steep price, but there is a 40 day return window. I bought my first one this past May and haven’t used another pick since. I haven’t used an EML or any other casein pick so I can’t really compare, but for me the Apollo works.

I forgot about Red Bear! I'll check those out. Anyone know if they're similar to EML?

What about Charmed Life picks? They do casein:

Thanks for the suggestions! I bought a D'Addario casein pick and it's actually pretty nice. Not as nice as the EML though.
I also ordered a couple Red Bear picks but haven't received them yet...
Re: EML Picks? Or other casein picks?
John Pearce picks has a cheap casin pick called the fast turtle, odd shape though….
Re: EML Picks? Or other casein picks?
Well I got a couple casein picks, one from D'Addario and one from Red Bear and they're both OK but for some reason I wasn't liking them as much as the EML pick and they didn't sound the same. Then I realized my EML pick is resin and not casein. Doh!

Almost all the BC picks cost $35 and they have been that way since the beginning and haven't gone up in price.
In your other thread, you say that the one you like is not casein but resin and that you are looking for one of those. Which is it? Here's the other thread: https://www.mandolincafe.com/forum/t...ks-(EML-Picks)
Re: EML Picks? Or other casein picks?
My bad, BC picks are $35 not $50.
Like I said in the post above yours, when I received my Red Bear Picks I realized they were not the same material as my EML pick. At that point I realized the EML pick was resin and I started my second thread (the one you linked to) regarding resin picks. I can delete this thread if needed - although I don't see an easy way to do that.
