Looking for an F-Style mandola gig bag
Hello everyone, usually I am happy to enjoy your comments and pics here, but now I have a question.
Is there any maker that sells gig bags for mandolas of Gibson H-5 type? No, I don’t have that one, but an Eastman 815. I got it in a large and heavy violin type case, but I want a lighter bag on my back. Yes, Eastman makes bags/soft cases for their MDA 315, but it’s not sold without the mandola.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Mike in Europe
Re: Looking for an F-Style mandola gig bag
After doing a quick search, mandola gig bags are few and far between. There are plenty of baritone ukulele gig bags available if you think those might work.
Re: Looking for an F-Style mandola gig bag
I have my Stahl mandola in a Cordoba tenor ukulele bag; it's not an F-style, but the bag might accommodate a scroll.
Traded my Eastman MDA-615, so I can't try fitting it in the Cordoba bag; sorry!

Was thinking https://glenncronkhite.com/ he used to run Reunion Blues* in SFO, A friend in the 80's worked there.
being hand made , it may cost as much as the instrument in it ..
* Now brand name went off shore to a Pac Rim source..

Glenn has retired. While he’s still an advisor to the company it’s relocated to Minnesota. Steve Kiesel, I believe is the new owner.

This: https://gruvgear.com/products/ukulel...=5707070930972
was from this thread: https://www.mandolincafe.com/forum/t...ola-Hard-Cases
and worked when I needed one, high quality too
but I traded it years ago when the mandola had a “bulge” in the neck at the joint and I wanted a collings guitar

I bought a Rocksack tenor uke gigbag, it fits the Eastman mandola perfectly.

Re: Looking for an F-Style mandola gig bag
Thanks to everyone responding! I have been busy investigating tenor uke bags that are available here in Europe, but at the moment there is no winner – the mandola seems to be too wide. Anyway, my Pomeroy mandola seems to comfortably slip into just anything, even a mandolin bag.
Re: Looking for an F-Style mandola gig bag
Builder of my H style Mandola built a case for it out of Foam Slabs from builder's supply ,
Plush Lined and canvas covered, closed with a zipper.. (Upgraded to #10 YKK coil)
