So effin good...sorry, mods, but, heck, even my non-string instrument playing wife stopped cruising Instagram and said, “Damn, they’re good! Who is that?”
This is one of the videos I "revisit" every time I find myself thinking I might, someday, be a good 'celloist.
A little too loud and busy behind the singer for my taste. We all know he’s a great player, a bit overwhelming in that duo.

Nice! I'm sure it's because I don't get around enough, but that's the first time I've heard and seen anyone sing and play fiddle simultaneously. Whew!

Bill "overwhelming"is a good word to describe Mark, when you think of it, David Grisman hired one of the world's premier fiddlers to play guitar in his band ( talk about setting the bar high). I agree this version is "not for the nervous" however seeing what Mark can do on a mandocello with a simple fiddle tune like "Little Maggie" does change my perspective on what is possible on a mandocello, and as a Paganini like virtuoso I think its part of Mark's role to push that envelope. Do I wish I could play like that - of course, would I actually play like that even if I could, most of the time-probably not.
John Hartford was known for doing that, and sometimes dance a bit, too. Not all that uncommon among old-time fiddlers, either. But yeah, I can't chew gum and play at the same time.

Tim I thought it was you for awhile. Damn he's been practicing a lot! :)
Pretty cool! I wonder if Mark also plays the violin-cello? Probably does he plays almost everything else?
