It is the most difficult string to get right and I think you can only answer that question by experimenting for yourself.
It will depend on you instrument and your playing style but 38 -48 is in the ballpark so 42-45 is what most folk prefer.
12 20 30 45 is an even feel set and always my starting point.
i use this set if that helps at all
