I searched and didn't find an answer to this. I have the two Mike Marshall instructional DVD's (both great). At the end of the second one on chords, he makes a small plug for the chord book in his Mike Marshall Mandolin Method series, for those looking for more info.
Does anyone here have both the Vol. 2 DVD and his chord book? If so, is there enough additional juice in the chord book once you've worked through the DVD? Or is it mainly repeating what's in the second DVD? The info available on these books at retailers is pretty slim... no chapter headings or anything, so I couldn't tell.

Mike's Chord Book is excellent, and carries on quite a bit further that what's covered on the DVD. The DVD is great, but it's short, and leaves off just as the going is getting interesting. So the Chord Book is nice for chasing some of the threads from the DVD.
There's not a lot of explanatory text in the Chord Book, but there are a lot of exercises and perspectives on inversions, neighbors, harmonized scales, etc.
And, if memory serves, there are a few chord melody solo pieces written out, including the version of Cherokee that Mike plays on the DVD.

Thanks, Doug! That's exactly the info I needed. I'm off to order the book.
