Minimal Mandolin Content - What is this electric uke?
Okay, I'm pushing the mandolin limits a bit, I know, but thought one of you guys might know. Went up to Vermont to have Jake W. work on my Strad-O-Lin today, and while we were there, my brother traded a guitar for these two ukes. The normal looking one is a 1920's Richter. What is the funky turquoise electric one? Jake said he got it in a bin of misc. music stuff and put it back together. Supposedly originally built in the 90's in Georgia. Anyway, it sounds very cool.
Anyway, after some minor tweaking and repair, my Strad-O-Lin sounds better than ever:mandosmiley:

I guess I don't follow. You pretty much answered the question while you were asking it - it's a funky turquoise electric ukulele. :whistling: Are you wondering who is the maker? Google doesn't seem to be much help. Have you tried some ukulele sites? Well, if you like the way it sounds, the rest doesn't much matter. Make up a story. ;) Have fun with it!

The body look a bit like some of the electric violins out there. Maybe someone grafted a uke neck onto a violin body.
