That's a cool tune, man! Now if I could figure out how to do some fingerpicking on this mandolin I'd be set...
Where's that Albert Lee instructional video?
Thanks Phillip! I just saw we can embed, so I'll do that. Much easier..
Hey Neil, it has been a while. That's a really cool piece. Your composition?
Don
Dangit Ducati! It's N-E-A-L!!! How the heck you doing? And thanks for the kind words. I still play a bit of mandolin when needed, just so you guys don't think I'm infiltrating.... but uke is the one I seem to be able to do most with.
Fingerpicking the mando.. I think I'd need a neck about 1-1/2", and most are 1-1/4". I have a John Morton Resonator uke that has a mando-like neck, and it's just a wee narrow for that, and there's only 4 strings, even a bit more cramped with 4 courses of 2.
Who makes a 1-1/2" neck at the nut?
That uke sounds GREAT! Nice picking.
Is that a Martin 3 ? or what?
What kind of strings are you using?
I have 2 Asturias ukes. Lovem.
Thanks for playing "Gossip". Enjoyed it!
Thanks Mike, that's a Kiwaya KTS-6 using Fremont fluorocarbon strings. Asturias, a fine MIJ uke, just like the Kiwaya.
Neal: Thanks for posting that, I really enjoyed it. Great tune and great pickin'. You really pull some fine tone out of that uke!
Thanks John, I wish I could do the same with the mandolin like some of you guys.
