The Collings MT is their best-selling mandolin model, and with a price of only $3250 (new) it's easy to see why. This example from 2016 does have some wear, and at first glance $2500 doesn't seem like such a great deal, that is until you add up the cost of the options. In this case the gloss top finish and Ivoroid binding adds $300, then the ivoroid-bound ebony pickguard adds another $400. But the result is a fully dressed and classy-looking Collings mandolin. There's a little fret wear, and some dings to the finish on the back of the neck. The top also has some impressions to the finish along the lower edge near the binding. Some finger scuffs to the surface of the pickguard suggest it was doing its job.
