Boy howdy, Will does nice work...
Oh, so very nice.
Thnx so much for sharing!
Now that's a collection!!!
Beautiful! Interesting to me how the color of the tuner keys changes the feeling of the instrument. The white keys are more striking but the black keys make a "richer" looking instrument -- at least to my eyes. Thanks for showing them. Now you need a Kimble octave mandolin! :)
Quite the pile of Kimbles. I can only think of one more that would really round out the collection (kidding of course, hah hah). Great instruments.
Cheers,
BB
Wow.
Those are all beautiful.
I especially love the two points.
I played a Kimble A-style recently that had an amazing bluegrass honk.
Great sounding mandolin.
I have a Kimble A5 which I’ve had just over a year. The previous owner left it idle for years which is why he sold it. It had an amazing presence from day one but just recently, wow! It is an absolute monster! I am absolutely delighted with it.
There is a certain "something" that Will's instruments have that's kind of hard to explain, but the words "quality and craftsmanship" come to mind. When you look at, hold in your hands and then play a Kimble instrument it becomes very apparent that this guy has really developed his sound and visual aesthetic to a very high degree. They are very hard to put down once you start playing! For me that's the mark of a truly great mandolin.
He's a heck of a nice fellow too!
All beautiful instruments indeed! The 2 point mandolin is a real eye catcher and all the details are there.
It would be a real treat to sit down with those instruments for a couple of hours and play them back to back!
Enjoy them in good health.
John
Beauties all but I love his take on the two-point.
Very nice ensemble there, Mr. Web! And you, too, Mr. Garber!
Lucky Man! those are sweet!
Hi John... no, no problem with the F5, it's just that I had decided my 2-point mandolin was more useful for the the style of music I play/write. Better balance both musically and physically speaking with the 2-point. The F5... Kimble BB#1 was/is a glorious instrument! In fact I believe Will is currently handling the sale of the last BB (Butch Baldassari) model he made (#5) so if anyone is looking for an astoundingly great looking/sounding F5 please contact Will for the details.
I wouldn't steer you wrong...
