2021 Mike Auldridge Instrumental Composition Contest

Attention, bluegrass and old-time musicians: This year's Mike Auldridge Instrumental Composition Contest is underway. The DC Bluegrass Union is accepting entries until Sunday, October 10th. Tunes judged as the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will earn prizes of $500, $250, and $100, respectively. Honoring the memory and music of the dobro master from the DC area, the Mike Auldridge contest was started in 2017 as a showcase specifically for instrumental compositions. Judging is based on the tunes submitted, not the productions, and without knowing any contestant identities. Winners will be announced on November 1st. Any proceeds from the contest, after prizes are awarded, help the DC Bluegrass Union's work to promote the music regionally through performance and education.
