Recommendations for a 3/4 size beginner guitar?
I wasn't sure if there was a place to put this, but here it is. I have a family that wants lessons for their 7 year old daughter who has never played an instrument. I recommended a 3/4 size guitar with nylon strings to begin with, but I don't really know any reliable brands. Does anyone have experience with this size beginner guitars and price ranges? My daughter started with a Johnson that the music store refitted with nylon strings but she was 12 and big for her age. Thanks

I bought a small guitar for my daughter when she was seven from
https://smallguitars.com/
and it sounds lovely.
The company was increasingly unresponsive as the pandemic worsened, so I don't know if they're still in business, however.
I have a Yamaha guitalele, but I wouldn't recommend it, the neck's too big for little hands.

Maybe one option could be to go for a baritone ukulele. It's tuned the same as the top four strings of a guitar, it's smaller than a guitar, as well as cheaper, so might be a good way for a child to get started.

Baby Taylor all the way. Sturdy, easy to play, and consistent sound.

I to am learning guitar also, so I bought a Taylor GHS which is 15/16 a little larger than 3/4 but not full size. My wife has a Baby Taylor and that was just to small. The issue with both of these, when you get them the action is set to high. So you will need to go to a reputable Luthier and have the action lowered, if not your fingers will pay the price. Guitar strings are much harder on the fingers than mandolin strings. Hope this helps and God bless.

Taylor GS Mini has a lot to offer. Great playability in a smaller size.
