Re: NMD and got the blues
The blue is a little hard to pass off!
Re: NMD and got the blues
Very nice sounding mando!
Your playing & singing is also very excellent.
I normally can't stand listening to entire videos of this nature, but yours is top-notch! I watched and enjoyed the whole thing!
A pleasure to my ears!
Keep it up!
Re: NMD and got the blues
So how many are you up to now, Don?
This looks cool and sounds great.
I have Morris flat top #450 and it is a very nice mandolin.
Re: NMD and got the blues
Congrats! great performance!
Re: NMD and got the blues
Thanks Sue! I guess I’m up to five now. Six if you count the MSO that I started with :)
Yes Louise, I couldn’t pretend that one of my existing herd had inexplicably turned blue… I had to fess up that the cute little fella had followed me home.
And thanks for the encouragement daLimuHead!

It took my wife a couple of trips through the living room before she asked “where did THIS one come from?” :)
I can’t really do it justice (new to stringed instruments a year and a half now) but here’s what it sounds like so far:

Re: NMD and got the blues
After you mentioned that we both own Morris Blue A4s I had to see if I could find a picture of yours… yours is beautiful! What is the number on yours? Mine is May, 2023 #505
Attachment 211250
Morris being a smaller builder I’m not surprised that our two have a couple differences…
Yours looks to have:
A brighter burst
An engraved tailpiece
Silver tuner buttons
A lighter peghead (Cherry?)
Lighter fretboard and bridge (Rosewood?)
These unique characteristics make them really cool!
Your Mandolin Twin, Zach
Re: NMD and got the blues
Mine is #475, Sitka top and maple. I honestly don’t know what the rest of the components were made of, I should stop and see Sonny sometime and ask him. I go fishing near his place all winter, which is what prompted me to stop in the first time and discover this beautiful instrument. I picked it up in May of 2022 and it’s been played pretty much every day since then.
