Bill Bailey has taught himself Mandola
Here he is on the Graham Norton show.

Spotted that one the other day; it’s featured in the Fylde newsletter. Pretty poor standard of playing and pity he hasn’t also taught himself to tune the thing. I also wish Fylde would learn to put the fingerboard dots in the right place!

Thanks for posting that. I love the Graham Norton show but never thought I'd be watching a clip here on the Cafe.

That is one "wet" tuned mandola!

Wow, that was the 2 november 2020. He’ll be playing it like a pro by now.

It's what you get used to on fret markers. My mandolins and mandolas have all had the ninth fret dot. Got a Breedlove with a tenth fret dot and have had to cover it to avoid my confusion.

You don’t if your other thirteen mandolins all have dots on the 10th fret! Trouble is that Roger is a guitar builder who builds the odd mandolin/mandola/OM.

That was my first thought when I saw it!
