That's the stuff I like, simply music well-played and with feeling.
I can't make out the head stock inlay on Steve's mandolin. Anyone know the maker?
I think that is Joe Walsh’s old Lloyd LaPlant
Sure looks like that LaPlant.

I know why I was confused. There was a group years ago called the Old Hat Band who was strictly old time music. Here’s and old record:

This is not to take anything away from the string band. They are excellent.
‘Had to get the freight train to leave this town ‘cause they don’t like the hoboes a hanging around’.
Milwaukee Blues.
-poetry! :)
Yes, I believe so. John Burke was in the band. IIRC there were two John Burkes, one banjoist and the other a fiddler.
Yup, my early fiddling days: Two albums 1972 and 1977.

Actually I have found multiple bands using "old hat" one in Texas and one in the UK. The one in the OP is in Maine.
And of course there is my friend, Marshall Wyat's record label, Old Hat Records...

In the op video, the bass player is having just too much fun :mandosmiley:
I believe the late Commander Cody had something to say about that...
