Is my laptop enough or should I use an external mic and earbuds?

Just a quick update-I was able to pick up my Schneider mandolin and Will Fielding banjo this past Monday. Thanks again to everyone for your help and support. I would not have recovered my instruments...

Instrument Update-My mandolin and banjo is now with the Indianapolis Police. I'm waiting to hear when I can take them home.

I've never had a problem with Southwest. Just for safe measures I use a fitted case. Also I like to arrive at the gate early enought to guarantee an early choice of places to stow it in the overhead....
