Wittner MT-50 - recommended to me by a drummer because of its loud beefy sound that cuts through whatever you have going on.
WOO HOO !!! Thank you Mr. Benedict, and thank you Mr. Cafe !!!
Who'd a thunk us workin stiffs would be looking forward to Mondays?
And still going - the Energizer Bunny's got nothing on David. ...
OK Mark, after two invocations the least you can do is pick up your mandolin and provide some actual twilight zone music. :mandosmiley:
Very nice indeed - hopefully they were able to take periodic breaks from posing to play music.
I just asked my local shop to get me one of those CT's. Congrats on that MD515 - the shop here had a 515V a while back that was a dynamite instrument. Fortunately that was before COVID, so I got to...
I agree with Bob (more or less) - While I don't like to see them get marked up, most of the marks made from moving the bridge aren't too bad, and are often not really noticeable if you aren't looking...
Interesting that so many of our wives have such similar things to say about the cafe. ;)
Here's wishing Scott and the crew a happy, healthy and prosperous new year, and the same for all of you...
That's very cool - thanks for posting! I love seeing how things go together. It's also doubly cool that they do this in 4 days. I think there was someone doing something similar in the Chicago area...
Sherry, that looks like it worked out well! Thanks for posting the photo.
Are you happy with the clip-base? The goose neck seems much better than what I was imagining - it's nice that it's...
Very nice! Congrats. Nice sound - we'll look forward to more. :) I had thought about trying to string my mandola as a tenor guitar but never got around to trying it. I completely understand wanting...
Congrats, and thanks for sharing that beautiful playing. I think the Collings oval holes are a thing unto themselves, so I get why you'd want to keep them both.
Doug, that tailpiece is amazing. Thanks for sharing that and the strap info with us, and Merry Christmas!

That instrument is beautiful, the construction video is great fun with enchanting music, and the sound is amazing.
The range of instruments shown on your web site is also rather stunning!
The front edge of that thing on the treble side looked a bit off-kilter as well, like maybe is was unglued from the side, so even if the back was ok it could still be a bit of work.
I actually have the one that Jim G recommended. I like it, but it's made to clamp onto a round rod like a mike boom or an Atlas stand....
One must take breaks to keep in a healthy frame of mind for working, right? :mandosmiley: I make sure my work desk is far enough away that I at least have to get out of my chair to switch from...
mjbee, great stuff. Really enjoyed it, and the cheerleading section is great too. :)
Wow, that's cool - who knew you could chop with a saxophone?
I've seen Sierra Hull do Old Dangerfield on the OM, but I had never seen this vid. It sure is a blast! Thanks Marcus
I think Eric is right about the friction.
Also, the material they're made if could potentially react with your finish, causing a different kind of blemish. If it's got plasticizers in it, they can...
Nice little piece! Thanks and Merry Christmas
I'm surprised that Shady Grove wasn't part of that Darlings compilation:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W2nEgYiqQUk
It has some nice mando breaks, and closeups of that 3-point oval hole. The...
Nice looking place! We will hope that any bear claw figuring stays strictly figurative. :)
You're right - none in the credits.
