Has been discussed a number of times here. Yes you can....all you are doing is cutting off the e strings and moving the other three sets down one position and adding the c strings. Then it is a...

Thanks....you just reminded me of my Dad (long gone) when he was teaching me knots. For the bowline......."The rabbit comes out of the hole, runs around the tree and back into the hole". Memory...

Just a thought....could a local jeweler fix it? Strong enough? There should be plenty of very talented fine metal craftsmen in that neighborhood.

    Re: Shim for Bridge Insert.

I make shims out of slices of soda or beer cans. Just cut it with tin snips...or old scissors. Also, you can get brass and aluminum shim stock of various thicknesses from some auto parts stores. I...

Saw TR at the same show as Eric Platt at the Cedar after his voice had blown out. Some idiot in the crowd yelled out "Sing one Tony". He stopped. Walked up to the mic and said. "F'ing right!" in...

Re: Measuring Humidity... What's a Guy To Do?

Yep, found that out the hard way. I had an older version humidifier that had a manual rotary switch that worked fine (you could just leave it on whatever fan speed setting you wanted) until one of...

I have been using the Inkbird that I calibrated against my Caliber IV. I use the Caliber next to the instruments and the Inkbird across the room controlling the humidifier. In the same room there...

I never would have thought I would like that color for binding. But that is stunning. "It ties the room together".

    The whole instrument is beautiful.

For mandola/mandocello/guitar. I got the last of what Cumberland had maybe three-five years ago. The barrels are the same but the longer, bent male threaded shafts are hard to find.
