  1. Re: Swing Mandolin: Rhythm and Chord Solos with Aaron Weinstein

I planned to do this course when time allowed, and finally started it. Great course! From the first lesson I can tell that it would be impossible to get through this without coming out a better human.

Re: Distressed Mandolin and Regular Playing

The standard for distressed mandolins would have to be Monroe’s Loar before it was smashed, right? So that instrument was 40 years old when he bought it and he went on to play it probably 300+ nights...

Re: Mandolin and Clawhammer Banjo duos

Old time mandolin discussion. Not so much mandolin/clawhammer duets, but kind of relevant.

Re: Modernizing an A-4. Yes or No?

Didn’t both Mike Marshall and John Reischman have radiused boards and large frets installed on their Loars?

Re: Old New Guy -Any second day tips?

Re: Chord based solos, Monroe method?

Lauren Price is a fantastic Monroe-influenced player. Check out her break here. Solo at 2:15.

Re: Mandolin and Clawhammer Banjo duos

There was a “clawhammer mandolin” arrangement of Cold Frosty Morning in one issue of your Mandocrucian’s Digest that works great. I still play it. Thanks for that!
