    Re: Tuning your OM

I think of it as a state of mind. GDAE if you were playing as an Octave Mandolin and you tune GDAD if you're playing as an Irish Bouzouki.

    Re: Nyberg Cittern Build Thread

It is Lawrence's mid-scale design, 22.5 inches. One of the changes I asked for was to make the body deeper than the standard 3.2 inch depth. It will be more like 3.5 inches deep.

    Re: Fraudulent Ad on Classifieds

    Thanks Scott

Didn't mean to ask you to give away secrets. I know when I look at guitars I look at things like head stocks, logo scripts, pickguards and serial numbers to start with. Didn't know...

    Re: Fraudulent Ad on Classifieds

OK, let me ask the stupid question. Guitars I know enough to spot a fraud; mandolins, I'm still learning. How can you tell this one is a fraud?

    Thanks for educating me

Re: Port Orford Cedar as a soundboard

One of the things I've learned, is that even here in Oregon it is prudent to manage the humidity of your instruments. I keep my guitars in their cases with an Oasis humidifier. I'd do the same with...
