My 1923 Lloyd era A2-Z smells similar to my 1931 L-00 Gibson guitar.

That is interesting, because my 1923 A2-Z will stay in tune for days, if not weeks. Maybe it is the strings. I use TI's.

Also, there is a Harmony discussion board. As Paul said 99% of the interest is in the guitars, but they have a lot of devoted Harmony fans and I'm sure someone knows about the mandolins. Harmony Group

Harmony's dating scheme was S or F (spring, fall), then the year, so F47 would indicate it was made in 1947.

I would have LOVED to have that mandola, but I didn't check this thread in time. If anyone knows one for sale please PM me.

TI's are great on my Gibson, but awful on my Larson Bros.

Using Photoshop, I overlaid the original Robert Johnson photo on top of the new photo. RJ's L-1's logo position is slightly higher.

My Gibson A2Z is 5/64 - G, 1/16 - E.

The Flatiron 1-N is 1/64 higher, 3/32 to 5/64.

Both have the same strings, TI Mittles, yet, oddly, the Gibson feels medium and the Flatiron feels light,...
