Re: To Upgrade or Not to Upgrade?

    Why is there any question?
Buy what interests you, that encourages you.
Then get the next one that fascinates you.

    Doen't think about it...
Just play, the path will be apparent

    Mandolin Gender

I notice that some folks refer to their mandolins in the feminine gender.
The mandolin's origin is Italy which has its name as Mandolino, the masculine designation.

    I wonder about these...

    Re: Weber Aficionados

I'd be curious to know if it's just a rumor or if TOH actually did rebrand some imports. And if they did how'd they get Bruce to sign them.
    I'm doubtful....

I am a Mandopolygamist and I love each one in my quiver. That's the only reason I have them.

I started out preferring the A style but after some years of devoted commitment I added the F style to...

    More mandolins equal more fun!
Buy them, sell them, find the love of your life.
Lots to gain, little to loose.

"Sounds like a mandolin to me..."
Was what my dear departed Aunt said in reply to my excitement over a new instrument.

Re: Neck shape/feel: "V" vs rounded

Personally I got used to and like the C shape. All but one of my mandolins has that type of neck.

But then I acquired a 1923 Gibson A2 that has the most amazing tone AND a hard V shaped neck. At...

  24. Re: Has anyone tune their mandolin a half step down?

Proper Mandolins are built to tolerances that are most optimal to concert pitch.
