    Box-shaped electric resonator mandolin

Wonder what the body's made of? Looks like plastic or carbon fibre?

Semantics? I always thought a chair had a back and a stool doesn't.

    Edited to add, from Wikipedia:

Re: Ever heard of a "guitar chair?!"

I'm not sure what constitutes a mandolin chair but I bought an adjustable piano stool for practicing oud which works great and is much more comfortable for longer playing. Maybe with the smaller size...

I'm afraid I don't know the tuning. I wonder if someone can figure it out based on videos and fingerings?

There's an interesting video here where a North Korean defector talks about the instrument...

  9. The Eoeungeum or 어은금, a North Korean equivalent of the mandolin

I thought I'd share something with you that I recently came across online, because it might interest you mandolinists.

Re: Post a picture of what's on your bench?

Thanks! Yes, as far as I know it originated in Hamburg in northern Germany, hence the name Hambuger Cithrinchen, meaning 'little cittern from Hamburg'.

    Re: Ebay: Kalamazoo mandolin

You know I think you're onto something there. I know it's the art-style of the time, but to me this art-style suggests 'pin-up girls' and everything associated with that.

If you like that sort of thing then maybe. I find them a bit tacky, so not for me.
