    Re: Journeybear Are you OK!

I figured he'd stay and stick it out. Great hearing that he made it throughtout the effects of Irma. Can't imagine what he is going through. I've lost power in my home for 15 days before. It was a...

Re: How has an Instrument Changed your Playing?

Playing the Upright Bass made aware of my bad timing. The fiddle made me like different tunes. Both instruments have made my mandolin playing better. In my world anyway.

    Journeybear Are you OK!

Haven't posted in quite some time here. Life cycle change I guess. Was thinking about Journeybear who lives in Key West. Has anyone heard from him? Hope he is well and that he evacuated Irma's Path.
  4. Re: Bryce mandolins number 0048 my first custom instrument !

Another thought would be to request a jam with him playing his upright bass. He's more than likely love that. Can't say enough good things about David Houchens.

Re: no mandolin content but check out the bass

The guy truly is a hoot. I flirted with buying an upright this winter past, but, put it on the back burner for now. I was planning on getting an Engelhard from Freewill Bass of Staunton, Virginia....

Re: Which Cast Tailpiece for a J Bovier F?

Kind of an apology here for Ivan as I thought that Lebeda used The Allen AR2 T/P. Agreed that the T/P on the left in post #4 is not the Allen AR2 screw hole's twin.

Re: Which Cast Tailpiece for a J Bovier F?

Ivan; The AR2 Allen makes will not be a direct replacement for their MR2. Their MR2 is their version of the Monteleon T/P. I contemplated changing out the AR2 that come on my Stelling to the MR2, but...

Yes the comparison would be good for you to hear. Let me know if that is possible for your time schedule. I'll put on some new strings and come on over.
