    Re: 5-string mandolin for beginner?

I had the same experience as Verne. I decided to think of the 5 string as a short scale mandola with an option in the top. Now it's all second nature.

Re: EQ Pedal for Live Shows?

I agree with Nathan 100%. I use the GE-7 constantly at every gig and every rehearsal. I use a gentle smile curve, cut the mids bosst the highs and lows. I leave the level slider on 0, but you can...

    Re: pickup jack question

    Thanks for your responses.

When plugged in, the signal from the jack to the plug sometimes cuts out entirely. It doesn't really crackle. I know how to adjust the angle between the plug and the...

  11. Re: One of Mr. Stillion's products on sale at Bernunzio's

I love these emandos. But every time I play my JBovier EMC-5 I wish the neck and scale length were as long as my Arrow which has a 15" scale length.

I am resigned to the fact that I will need to...

    Re: Adjusting the tone knob

I have a JBovier as well, I don't monitor the tone pot's performance as much as you, but I do notice that it has a different effect depending on the amp I'm coing through.

    Re: solid mando practice setup?

  15. Re: String windings for magnetic pickup mandolins?

I buy electric guitar strings individually for both my hollow body archtop Arrow G5 and my solid boody JBovier EMC-5.
Usually D'Addarios, but I'm not too picky.

I have a few different amplification options.

    Re: Continuing my electric education

I have used a Mooer with a Line6 POD 2.0 with no problem.
The POD can only do one on-board effect at a time as far as I am aware, so having some octave with, for example, tremolo is not a bad thing....

Re: Where to go from here?

    Hi Bill,

Where to go from here really depends on what you want to do with the EM8.
