Well, it' all academic. I went to see the A4 at Buzzy's and it was gone. In the end, the stuff is worth what somebody is willing to pay. I should have borrowed the funds.....
I can't comment on the previous remarks one way or another. However, I have not seen many of these snakeheads come up for sale, period! They are quite rare and the one at Lark St. sounded so nice....
Funny! I meant is that the going price? I might buy but don't want to overpay. I googled and found one in Brooklyn with Virzi for $8500 so this looks like a decnt price, no? They just don't come up...
I got to play a nice snakehead A4 at Lark Street Music today. Very resonant, great sound. No pickguard is the only issue. Otherwise 7 out of 10 condition. Is $6500 a decent price?
Thanks...mine came without guard and since it is varnished the finish scratches very easily. I suppose best to leave as is...
Did that mando come without pickguard? Mine did and I was wondering how common it was to ship sans guard.
Please add V70415 signed by Charlie Derrington Aug 16, 2004 to your list of Master Models.....and thanks for assembling the list!!!! This mando was original with no pickguard.
I bought it brand new from Stan Jay at Mandolin Bros so I assume the nut is original...I have not messed with it...it never had a pickguard, should I put one on?
Sounds great by the way.
may be late to chime in but I have V70415 signed by Charlie Derrington on August 16th 2004.
headstock of V70415
ok...and the back
Another attempt....
Well, I can't post photo for some reason. Is the "post a picture of your mandolin " inactive?
Here is Derrington Signed varnished MM F-5 V70415 dated Aug 16, 2004
