    Mandolin Gender

    I notice that some folks refer to their mandolins in the feminine gender.
    The mandolin's origin is Italy which has its name as Mandolino, the masculine designation.

    I wonder about these...

    Proper Mandolins are built to tolerances that are most optimal to concert pitch.

    I have observed notable drops in efficiency and tone with lowering the concert pitch.
