Holds mandolin/fiddle securely in a position convenient for string changing and other maintenance. Folds up neatly when not in use.

Re: Sourcing Mandolin Armrest in UK

My short bit of research seems to indicate I can ship a small package to Scotland for somewhere around $16-18. I make and mail armrest inside the US almost daily for right at $5 for postage. ...

Re: Stelling Mandolin up for auction

I would not expect an LS-5 to sell for anywhere close to $5000. A Ward Elliot S-5 in good shape is probably going be in the $5000 range for sure. I own an S-5, David Houchens built, in early 2000s....

    Re: Mandolin Cases

I own and regularly use both the Arrow and Oblong Bobelok mandolin cases, and also regularly use a Calton mandolin case. I like all three.. The Calton is solid as a rock, quite heavy, but really...

    Re: Case humidifier

I just used fabric glue to secure a couple strips of Velcro in the corner of the case to secure my humidifier tube. Works fine to prevent flopping around.

Is Anyone able to help me determine if the finish on my 2002 BRW is lacquer or varnish?
    Thanks!

    Re: Pick guard

You can use the clear plastic pickguard material that adheres to to mando top by static adhesion only, no adhesives, peels off and on easily. I’ve used it on mandolins for 20 years, no problems. ...

Re: Stelling riding into the sunset

I’ve a Stelling S5 mandolin from early 2000s signed by Geoff. Stunningly beautiful mandolin that’s plays really easily and sounds so good. Also have a dark walnut Stelling Whitestar banjo that’s...

Re: Replace end pin with a strap button

Not being flippant, but the strap button on a mandolin is designed to be attached to a mandolin strap. Seems to me wrapping a pickup cord around it and then dragging the cord around where it can be...

Re: Gibson F5-L 1991, what do i need to know

I’d avoid an 1980 F5L, unless of course you get your hands on it and find it’s something special, but that’s unlikely. I’d bet it suffers from the poor quality 70s era Gibsons all experienced.

Re: Gibson F5-L 1991, what do i need to know

1991 F 5l from the Montana era will be about as good as you’ll find at that price point. That was most definitely not a bad time period for Gibson. All the flatirons and gibsons I’ve seen/played...
