Re: Nylon String Tenor What gauge strings

Just to close the loop on this I found a place that sells singles of the Thomastik so ordered some and they arrived today. So far I'm very happy with them so thanks for the recommendation!!

Re: Nylon Sting Tenor What gauge strings

    Thanks for the reply!

If I could get a sound similar to yours I'd be happy. What strings are you using? I know you are about 2" shorter scale than mine..

FYI mine is Claro Walnut with a Redwood...

So I built myself a Tenor guitar designed to use nylon strings and I've picked what strings I thought might be good for GDAE tuning but I don't think it is quite right, just not quite how i thought...

Re: nylon strung 4 string OM

I've made a 4 string nylon instrument tuned as a Cello CGDA and I'm quite happy with it..

Might do a nylon OM at some point as I do like the nylon string sound..

    Not Sure What this is....

OK I built it but not sure what to call it..

It is a Gibson L-0 six string body shape but about 10mm deeper with a arm bevel and 4 nylon strings tuned as a Cello CGDA.. Not a Mando Cello, not a...

Re: Starting new build. Some questions

I'll comment on a couple of points as well..

I hobby build GBOM's and such..

Tuners could be either, I've done both usually depending on look and availability.

I agree witht he Bridge pin...

Very nice both versions! Although I do think I also prefer the Bass version :-)

I've always like the song and try to play it after a fashion on Tenor Guitar..

    Re: Two Tenors

Your Idea would work I believe although I'm not a CNC guy.. Route inside first then the outside, I cut the f holes after both inside and outside were carved..

Not much fun doing it with CNC ;-)
