    Re: Tenor guitar hairline crack

Hmmm lots of food for thought here, thanks! I will continue to keep an eye on it over the next few months and see if it looks like it changes, then get it inspected and see what the luthier suggests...

    Re: Tenor guitar hairline crack

It’s the oldest instrument I’ve ever played that’s for sure! It plays so great, I’m so happy with it! :D

Thanks for the advice, so it’s a good idea to get it fixed then! I wasn’t sure if that was...

    Tenor guitar hairline crack

    Hello everyone!

I posted last week in the tenor guitar thread here about a hairline crack on a new guitar I've imported from america.

The instrument (to my ears!) plays perfectly and I have no...

    Re: Gibson TG-1

The gorgeous guitar arrived yesterday and my fingers are red raw from all the playing! It is SOO much better than I expected, it plays warmly, and the intonation is absolutely perfect. The frets are...

    Re: Gibson TG-1

Yes, I didn’t choose a very wise time to get something shipped through the eu! Don’t get me started on that I’ll never shut up! 😂

I paid just shy of £300 in total to FedEx for the customs charges,...

    Re: Gibson TG-1

Blimey yes, that one is looking a little tired. Still stunning though. I couldn’t find any of them available in the uk, I looked all over the place!

The instrument’s still at Paris customs, still...

    Re: Gibson TG-1

    That’s wonderful thank you! :)

That’s exactly what I thought! Not that I’m faulting Bernunzio Guitars at all they were top notch so far. At the end of the day I said to my partner, I don’t really...

    Re: Gibson TG-1

Oh, I trust them! I was so impressed, they were really brilliant! I’ve been tracking the instrument and it’s in Paris customs at the moment, reckons here by the 5th! 😁😁

    Thank you for that! :)

    Re: String spacing?

Very good reasons then! I think I read your message a little wrong originally - I think the spacing actually between the strings is similar on a 6 string guitar as a tenor, so I think you are right....

    Re: String spacing?

    Hi!

My dad plays bass guitar, the neck of his guitars are massive in comparison to my tenor guitars. I also play baritone ukuleles actually!

The necks on tenor guitars are very narrow, so the...

    Re: Tunings and string gauges

So, I guess I would be better off not tuning to that tuning then! Food for thought. I did consider tuning down (Bb F C G) and using a capo.

How do I decide how high gauge I can safely go before...

    Re: Tunings and string gauges

So I was using a 10 before with the Cromwell, but I struggled even to tune it up once without it breaking! So I went to a guitar shop and they suggested I tried 11? If I use a 9, will that possibly...

    Tunings and string gauges

Hello everyone! Hope you're keeping well.

I've been playing tenor guitars for the best part of a year now (after 14 years of ukuleles), but have been having a couple problems!

    I have a Cromwell...
