It’s going up on their site soon and has yet to be taken. They expect to sell it within a week of listing it.
Another word - word is that Joe Cleary won’t be taking any more custom build orders...
Love em. Almost purchased the one at The Music Emporium, but am holding out for something else they have coming down the pike. Kimble makes a killer mandolin. Great value for a new instrument at $5k.
I cannot get this code to work. I emailed them for support yesterday and have heard nothing. Anybody else try this promotion?
I second this recommendation. I have 4 Blue Chip picks of various sizes and shapes. They’re great, no doubt. Now, I’m not a frugal person - I suppose that goes without saying since I have about $160...
You’re correct. There was only 1 A model made for the 40th Anniversary series. 13 F’s, 1 A, and 1 2 Point.
I already called dibs on a 40th F, buddy. ;)
My first bluegrass CD purchase was Del and the Boys in the early 2000s, and after watching Thile play in the How to Grow a Woman tour I was inspired to learn to play the mandolin. Two giants in music...
I received a copy of their CD with a purchase from Acoustic Music Works. Great stuff. Charley gave my mandolin his blessing before it came to me.
Enjoy!
First, I want to thank Rob for responding to my request for the ebook and also providing video clips of his before and after setup results. My first mandolin was a Rogue just like the one in his...
I believe my Stiver is well balanced from note to note. Now, mine is still a little green and even with a torrified top it still needs a little more breaking in. Even so, it still sounds good across...
My Stiver has that same torrefied Carpathian top. Acoustic Music Works, who sells the lions share of Lou Stiver’s mandolins, thinks that the torrefied Carpathian is their favorite top on his...
I am fairly certain that all Stivers come with nitrocellulose lacquer finish. Can’t help you with the nut width other than saying that mine is 1-1/8” and is his standard spec.
Awesome instrument. Already have one though.
The 40th Anniversary is made with a one piece back of 100 year old maple with the craziest grain. Maybe one day one will show up in the classifieds...
The Les Paul, Telecaster, and Stratocaster are still the vast majority of body styles for the electric guitar and they've had staying power since the early days of rock and roll. Not saying there is...
I love the style. I dig 2-points in general and really like the burst on this piece. The oval hole is pretty cool too. Most entry models these days seem to be F-hole models.
I'd say for a 70 pound...
Fair enough. It’s been a while since I’ve been on myself so maybe it’s me that feels out of place and not the post.
Hi Demetrius - I own a Stiver and love it. Did you happen by chance to purchase the 40th Anniversary? Do you remember what TME was asking for it?
Sorry for re-hashing a month old post everybody. I...
Congrats. Eastman makes a good mando. I advise on buying a bunch of different picks and seeing what you like. I'm personally digging the Wegen picks right now.
A strap isn't necessary if you play...
Thanks for the advice. I was leaning towards the Northfield due to the rave reviews I've seen on here and with it being half the cost my wife should only be half as mad with me, right?
Marty, your...
Hey folks. I came here last December after an exciting endeavor of purchasing a Rogue A-100 and immediately purchasing an Eastman 305 afterwards. I love the Eastman - I've gotten hours of enjoyment...
Yes, John, very small world. I bought my "inexpensive instrument" at Guitar Center on East Independence Blvd. The Eastman was purchased at Ron's Pickin' Parlor (yes the setup is perfect Blind Bard)...
I've always wanted to give OAITW a listen but it was not available a few years back. Looks like I have something to download tomorrow.
First post here. I've been thinking about learning the mandolin for ages and finally pulled the trigger on an inexpensive instrument about a month ago. That initial interest exploded to something of...
