First, I'd like to say that pete at almuse was a pleasure to do business with. he made helpful suggestions, answered all my questions, admitted it if he was unsure of something, and was very...

just a simple early morning improv. it kinda turns into tom thumb blues at the end
sounds like there might be a short in the wiring of the instrument somewhere. that's what #4 would indicate anyways.
just a lil blues through the pignose.

i got a lil pignose to play this through and it sounds great. i can use it as a preamp to the bigger system too. it distorts at higher gain, but if i set the volume and tone right, it's perfect for...
not sure when they changed pu's. mine is from march 2013. the e course was a lil weak as has been mentioned, i pushed em over just a little bit with the end of a pen and it seems to have fixed the...
she's here and after several hours tinkering she's sounding pretty good.
Man am I excited. Like a lot of you, I came to the mandolin after playing guitar, acoustic and electric, for many years. I've been playing mando exclusively for about 3 years and I love the sound of...
you can get louder with the k&k, but the audio technica at-pro 35 clip on condenser mic sounds worlds better. i got one for christmas and have been amazed at how full the sound is.
they look great.
please don't tell my wife that. Really though, this one speaks to me in a way only a couple instruments have and though i've only been playing mando for a couple years, i've been playing music for...
I'm still really happy with this mando. At this point all the tonal flaws are caused by good ol' user error. At the end of the day that's what makes a good instrument. If you play it right, it sounds...
please count me in too.
Welcome to the world of mandolin. Glad you found one you like. "nothin' left to do but smile, smile, smile..."
blackberry blossom. it might not be perfect, but it sure was fun. i've replaced the bridge with another c.a. bridge that i sanded and fitted myself....
i'm gonna guess you're using grommets as harmonic suppressors behind the bridge and the black is coming from them. maybe not, but that's the only time i've ever had that problem.
any amp will feed back if you have it too loud and stand right in front of it. the fishman loudbox mini has worked for me even with a full band with drums and keys. i think it sounds better than the...
i just got the planet waves micro and i'm really liking it. it gets me much closer than my tune-tech did. i love the tiny size as well. i've only had it a couple days though.
it's a gold tone gm60. i took a ca bridge off of it that had been installed improperly and replaced it with the original bridge and i couldn't be happier. i like the french satin finish way more than...
not sure why i couldn't get the vids to post. those are the links.
here's one more.

so i got this mando about 3 weeks ago and haven't window shopped since. i'll post a few vids here of it played in different ways. i wonder if any of you will guess what it is.
rights of man...

you gonna say which is which later?
i find the bridge shifts over time and the intonation changes. just keeping the bridge in place while changing strings doesn't mean the intonation is still correct. that's my experience anyways.
