I had a gentleman name Bob Rosser engrave just the brand name and he was very quick and affordable. It came out great....his info is on his website: hand-engravers.com
Weldon Lister does some...
Hey Melt_In_The_Sun....I see you are in Tucson as well! I had a NF Octave and did feel the neck was a little beefy. I switched to an Austin Clark and it's a lot slimmer.
I signed up!
I play twice a week at a Catholic church. Usually piano, guitar and myself. Sometimes we add a double bass. No bluegrass...unfortunately.

Those are Thomastik-Infeld 154 Precision Mandolin Strings - .010-.033 Medium's. The lights have yellow thread wrap.
I think it depends on your environment. I wish I had one in high humidity conditions when my neck gets to feeling sticky. I'm glad I don't when humidly is low. I live in the desert so I'm good...

I just noticed jaycat said the same thing....I guess that's 2 votes for the John Pearse Tenor Guitar Strings.
I recently accidentally purchase a XL ToneSlab pick. I feel it's way too large for picking mandolin. But, it feels really comfortable playing octave, mandola & guitar.
Do you think there is...
You are correct! Thanks for teaching me something new everyday, I looked at that wiki page 4x and didn't see Jerry. Thanks!
When clicking on the "This Day in History" it also states: December 28, 1992 - Jerry Garcia and David Grisman record Dawgnation, released on the compilation DGQ 20 in 1996. I don't believe Jerry was...
I recently acquired a mandola. It will quickly put a pretzel in your head with all the same chord shapes being a fifth lower. I’ve realized the 5301 F chord I play on a mandolin would be a Bb on a...
I changed it to Jazz (Right Click, Get Info, Jazz) but it still shows "Bluegrass"

I guess my silly question really has only 2 answers....who chooses the "default" genre on Apple Music?:...
I wasn't confused. I was just questioning why Apple Music had labeled under the "Bluegrass" genre. It should be categorized as "Holiday" or "Jazz".
Apple Music needs a "Fake News" button next to...
