    Re: Tremolo number of notes

I saw a John Reischman video where he says that he always ends the tremolo on a downstroke. Keeping that in mind has really improved my metered tremolo playing. It means that if you play tremolo on...

Re: Putting removable cap on one piece bridge

I got hold of a Brekke Bridge that was modified after Peter Coombes instructions to get lighter, and made a bit shorter, 4.125 inches wide. I fitted the bridge to the top of my Collings MT2 with...
  7. Buying small quantities of wood for making bridge

I've decided to try to make some one-piece bridges, and need some chunks of ebony and maple to work with. I have no plans about making bigger instrument parts, so I just need some tiny pieces. Where...

Re: Putting removable cap on one piece bridge

I think I'll go for multiple one-piece bridges, then.

Maybe I'll also try to modify a Brekke after Peter Coombes instructions. Thanks for all advice:-)

    Best regards, voie, Norway

Re: Putting removable cap on one piece bridge

Nice bridge, buckhorn. Do you think the bone has any influence on the tone? Why didn't you use ebony or maple? Maybe wood is difficult to attach with a slot?

Re: Putting removable cap on one piece bridge

    Thanks for all the replies:-)

Maybe you are right that it's easier to make two or three bridges. I just thought it might take some time to make a perfect fit with the soundboard, and that I might...

Old recordings that are "out of key"

    Hi all.

When I try to copy Bill Monroe solos from old recordings, they often seem to be out of key, and I don't know whether to adjust the pitch up or down, for instance to F or G. I'm a bit...
